Who I am
I bring over 30 years of senior HR and commercial management experience to workplace investigations, advocacy, and mediation, with a particular focus on constructive resolution and evidence-based outcomes.
I am an Associate of the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of New Zealand and a licensed private investigator under the Private Security Personnel and Private Investigators Act 2010. I'm equipped to conduct independent employment investigations that meet the rigorous requirements of New Zealand employment law. My formal training includes AMINZ’s Mediation Skills Intensive and LEADR's 5-Day Mediation Workshop, complemented by extensive practical experience resolving complex employment disputes and representing organisations at mediations.
I hold a Masters of Legal Studies (Distinction) and Masters of Philosophy in Management Studies and Labour Relations (Honours) from the University of Auckland, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Education, and a Diploma in Business from Massey University. As an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), I bring specialised expertise to investigations involving sensitive information and privacy considerations.
My approach combines academic rigour with decades of practical experience, through an uncommon blend of senior HR and commercial roles across retail, logistics, education, and the hospitality sector. This includes negotiating collective employment agreements, managing complex change processes, and building high-performing HR functions from the ground up.
I've contributed to community and industry organizations including the Employers and Manufacturers Association, Photographic Society of New Zealand, Auckland Justices of the Peace Association, Waitakere Adult Literacy, and the Retail Industry Training Organisation.
My work prioritises fair process, proportionate responses, and sustainable workplace relationships.
