Authority to Act

Please read this document carefully before you sign it.

If anything is not clear, ask us to explain it.

I will be authorising Aston Moss of Principled Limited to act as my representative under section 236 of the Employment Relations Act 2000, and to obtain any information on my behalf relating to my employment issues with my employer.

This means Aston Moss can act and speak for me in my employment matter.

What I authorise Aston Moss of Principled Limited to do

  • Get details about my pay, my service record, and my personnel file from my employer, my payroll provider, or ACC.

  • Ask my employer for copies of my wage and time records, my holiday and leave records, and my employment agreement or any other employment documents.

  • Take my case to the Labour Inspectorate, Mediation Service, the Employment Relations Authority, or the Employment Court.

  • Represent me in all matters relating to the employment issues I have told Principled Limited about, whether by phone, in meetings, or in writing.

  • Agree to, sign, and complete a settlement of my case on my behalf under section 149 of the Employment Relations Act 2000. I understand that once a settlement is signed off by a mediator it is full, final, binding, and enforceable. This means my case is closed and cannot be reopened. Aston Moss will discuss any settlement with me and get my agreement before signing it on my behalf.

  • Request, receive, and share personal information about me where it is needed for my case, in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.

  • Request or provide information about workplace health and safety in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, to the extent that it relates to my employment dispute.

What Principled Limited will do

  • Keep me informed of all developments in my case.

  • Give me copies of all documents sent or received about my case.

What I will do

  • Tell Principled Limited about any contact from my employer, or anything else that happens that affects my case.

Ending this authority

  • I can end this authority at any time by telling Principled Limited in writing. If I do, I still need to pay for the work already done.

My agreement

  • I confirm that I have received and read the Principled Limited Terms of Engagement, that I had the chance to ask questions about them, and that I agree to pay all fees I incur.

  • My electronic signature will confirm that I accept the above, and that this is a legally binding agreement.
